One Man Guy - Michael Barakiva

One Man Guy - Michael Barakiva
So, basically, I'm fully, completely, utterly in love with this book and the only thing I wish for is that there was more. I ravished this in a span of few hours and cancelled every plan I had today so I could do so. It is funny, adorable, witty and beautiful in a way and I'm so so happy that I read it that I can't even describe it.

This is that kind of a book that rises so many different emotions in you and you don't know what you're feeling sometimes or how to handle it all. You keep flipping pages after pages and chapters after chapters and you're getting happier and sadder and all fuzzy and warm inside and when you realize that this is it, this is the end, you're all over the place and you're smiling but you feel like crying and it's just a huge mess of emotions. Personally, I like those books the best. I like the books that take all of my focus away from errors, or flaws, or whatever else there is and focus only on the emotion and the characters and the story.

And may I say, I loved characters here more than anything. I liked how every one each of them had their own complex personality. I liked how all of them changed throughout the book, not only Alek. It was a pleasure watching it (or better to say, reading it) happening. Also, it was almost surprising that I didn't find any character that I actually disliked which is quite weird because there is at least one in each book. This book gets a shoutout for awesome characters as well as their development.

Another thing that I liked was that I got to find out more about the culture and people I didn't know a lot of. We get these small and big parts of Armenian culture described throughout the story and it's just one more thing I admire the author of doing. It's a great way to inform a reader about some things that they may not know or didn't know well. (The receipt thing at the end had me smiling so big my face split in two. It was adorable.)

Moreover, I liked the tone of this book. At the same time, it was light and careless and deep and emotional. It definitely left me in a state some book rarely does and I couldn't find it any flaw, no matter how hard I tried. It deserves all of these 5 stars and even more.

Also, another shoutout for Michael Barakiva and a great music taste. As soon as I read a name 'Rufus Wainwright' I went to Youtube search to find his songs (even though I should've probably heard of him before but I blame the smallness and isolation of this country I live in for that) and now I have One Man Guy on repeat which is kind of an unhealthy thing happening to me very often with specific songs. It's the kind of music that I adore and that's very close to my heart so yes, thank you, Sir.

Overall, please, please, please read this book and enjoy it as much as I did because believe me, you won't regret it.
